A solid mid-range battery – part of Ryobi’s ONE+ 18v battery range – the 2.5Ah 18v Lithium+ RB18L25 provides good balance between performance, price and weight. It is claimed by Ryobi to be capable of driving 745 4 x 32mm screws on a single charge using its R18DD3 18v Cordless Drill/Driver. This is a good performance when compared to the least powerful battery in the range the Ryobi 18V 1.3AH Lithium Battery RB18L13 which took only drive 380 screws in the same test. Though to put it in perspective the 5.0Ah 18v Lithium+ battery RB18L50 is claimed by Ryobi to be capable of driving 1550 4 x 32mm screws in the same test.
Ryobi also claim it can cut 41m of 13mm plywood using Ryobi’s R18CS-0 18v Cordless Circular Saw, compared to 100m with the 5.0Ah 18v Lithium+ battery RB18L50. Though as with all batteries these runs times are indicative and can change depending on the tools used, the application and even individual batteries.
It has a a very nice ‘fuel gauge’ showing the remaining power in four stages – 100%, 75%, 50% and 25% which is very handy. The battery only weighs 499 Grams, and has been designed with impact protection to help stop it being damaged from being knocked and dropped.
