Ryobi’s 1.5Ah18v battery from its Lithium+ battery range is claimed by Ryobi to be capable of driving 440 4 x 32mm screws on a single charge using its R18DD3 18v Cordless Drill/Driver, compared to 1440 with its 18V 5.0AH Lithium+ Battery RB18L50. And claims it can cut 27m of 13mm plywood using Ryobi’s R18CS-0 18v Cordless Circular Saw, compared to 100m with its 18V 5.0AH Lithium+ Battery RB18L50. Though as with all batteries these runs times are indicative and can change depending on the tools used, the application and even individual batteries.
It has a a very nice ‘fuel gauge’ showing the remaining power in four stages – 100%, 75%, 50% and 25% which is very handy.
One other advantage is it weight at only 513 grams, though the downside is the considerably shorter run-time when compared to the bigger batteries. So probably better for quick jobs or less powerful tools so you don’t have to recharge too often!
